This weekend I learned two things: woodpeckers can fly like finches (long swoops like slow breaking waves) and wild grape flowers have a very nice aromatic smell (especially if the breeze blows through them in your direction). The only similar nice aromatic smell I recall is from the flowers of Amur maples on Sarah Lane in Bronte.
