Heaven on Earth

What if we always lived in Heaven and some cynical demiurge(s) convinced (most of) us that we did not deserve it because of one mistake thousands of years ago by one couple and that Earth is not Heaven and that to make it back to Heaven we need to suck up to him even though we never left Heaven/Earth?
