Today, I found a stripped tower PC in our driveway (garbage day). The RAM and HDs were stripped, but the CPU wasn't, so I took it. It turns out that it was a 1.6Ghz Intel P4 400MHz/FSB 256K/L2 (socket W, 61W, 1.75V, MMX, SSE2, 180nm die process, 217mm2 die, 42 million die transistors, 1 core, 1 thread) that was released in July 2001 for $125. Ten years later, it is discarded with trash for almost no value. Crazy.
