Anti-intellectualism in USA and the working class vote

In 1963, Hoftstadter published Anti-Intellectualism in American Life (and won a Pulitzer for it). Here are a few reviews: Studio ATAO, Objective Standard. I stumbled upon this book while looking for why the Democrats keep losing the working class vote (e.g. rall.com, Teixiera's Mar 10 or Jan 27 substack posts, PsychToday). Given that my entrypoint on this topic was an FB post that linked to Teixiera's Mar 10 post, it amazes me how poorly informed "progressives" are almost 60 years later on the topic of Democrats and what they need to do to win the vote. Somewhat related is a recent book, Tyranny of Merit.
