ionelvHas anyone else noticed that “virgin” births were considered miraculous and even auspicious two millennia ago, but they became taboo over time, as recently as 20th century in some places (and even today in a few)?
PS: There is also a reversal of this taboo in most of the West since the 1960s that largely overlaps with the rise of single-mother families and the decline of the Church’s stranglehold on morality…
PPS: … and with an improved social net that relieves the pressure on women to stay/enter [undesired] marriages [even when kids are involved].
