Collateral damage of our daily commutes and love of cars

Today, I spotted on my one hour morning commute these dead souls: a racoon, a possum, a hare, a fox. My soul aches for these poor souls who pay everyday for our convenience and need for speed. To think that species that have existed for millions of years are now killed by cars and other fast vehicles at a rate of millions per year is heartbreaking (in addition to all other ways in which humanity rapes our Earth and all its creatures). I sometimes wish there is a judgement day for all just to account for this ongoing slaughter.
