Today, I played my first Crosswords game (boardspace.net) against a SmartBot and lost by almost 200 pts (457 v 638). I did not pay attention to the multipliers and the bot played MOVERS for 264 pts (2x 2x 3x 2x 11pts) right after I played my 1st bingo (ENTERICS), which is when I realized that there is no bingo bonus, so it's all about hitting the bonus multipliers (which are randomly placed for each game and they lined up just perfectly for a 24x multiplier on a 6-letter word). One can also play left to right, right to left, up or down. Diagonal play is also allowed in some games (but not the one I played).
