Six years ago, we went to a double bill concert: Ducu Bertzi & Anca Parghel. Anca was radiant and entertaining despite the meager settings. That sunny quality of her I almost forgot (thank you, diary). She sang Schubert's Ave Maria (one of the most beautiful cantatas IMO) amongst her eclectic repertoire: jazz, classical, Romanian folk (Lataretu, Tanase), original compositions (e.g. her vocal imitation of toaca). Her 2008 duet with Stefan Banica (1930 My baby just cares for me tune) is a befitting adieu. Despedida bonita cantora...
