Popovici takes gold at 200m men's freestyle swim at 2024 Olympics

David Popovici took gold at 200m men's freestyle by 0.02s. He will be 20 in September but he already holds 3 of the top 10 world records in both 200m freestyle and 100m freestyle. I hope he has a long uninterrupted career in swimming and reaches the podium again at this Olympics.

David took silver at 100m freestyle and the winner not only knocked off one of David's records off the top 10 lists, but he also established a new world record and holds 5 of top 10 now.

The craziest story though is Katie Ledecky's hold on the 1500m freestyle records: 24 of top 25 records alltime and all of top 20 records. Also, she is even more dominant in the 800m freestyle: 29 of top 30 world records.
