The unstated common thread through all these changes is the astroturfing campaigns in the orders of billions if not trillions of $$$ spent by the oligarchs since Goldwater’s failed 1964 presidential bid that gave us Reagan/Bush x2, the self-defeating triangulating Third Way (from Clinton to Biden/Harris) and more recently the Orange Menace. That is one of the few elephants in the room, but shhh… M’rica is classless and we don’t talk such nonsense.
