A growing undemocratic Red tilt
Jul. 17th, 2020 10:54 amMary Trump's book and the attention it got illustrates perfectly once more the yawning and growing gap between a Red and Blue bi-polar America:
+ on one side you have mostly jingoism, denial, paranoia, full tilt (domestic and foreign) propaganda impact, white victim-hood, white privilege, toxic masculinity, Pharisaical anti-science crowd and gas-lighting at its finest, and
+ on the other side you have mostly reason, open-mindedness, inclusiveness, unbridled optimism and often too accommodating and accepting of its darker side.
It is sad to watch from up North and, sadly, a late vindication of our decision to move here from a purple state just before Obama came to power.
The way I see it, only a complete revamp of the Electoral College flaws into a more democratic and just republic (away from a growing undemocratic Red tilt) will save it from eating its own tail.
