Water access
Dec. 30th, 2021 10:05 pmI am watching Rotten's Troubled water episode which highlights the water issue in Lagos, Nigeria. This reminded me of the water situation at my grandparents. My paternal GPs had a well shared with my grandpa's brother, a well which I hear is ruined, unmaintained and unusable now. My maternal GPs had their own well which was used for animals only, but would go dry in summer. They also had access to two taps half a block away in either direction and interestingly one was better quality than the other most likely due to different aquifer/source. As a kid, I fetched many buckets of water from both taps. I also recall that the tap water we had in the city was good, but we often purchased mineral water for drinking or making our own sodas. We still do that now half a world way.
