It dawned on me that we witnessed in the past 8+ years a rhinocerization of America (term coined already as early as 2017 if not earlier). Some might say that we've seen this movie before (most famously in the 1930s in Europe), but also in America as recently as 1980s. Let me highlight a few differences and similarities between then and now:

Gipper	Grifter
He was a mediocre actor that stanned for the rich.	He is a submediocre rich actor that stans for the rich and grifts for himself and his family as well.
A hostage release was delayed until his first inauguration.	A hostage release was delayed until his second inauguration.
He pushed Made in America branding.	He pushed Make America Grate (sic) Again branding.
He divided America on racial lines by pushing exagerated narratives about welfare queens.	He divided America on racial lines by pushing exagerated narratives about illegal criminals invading America and eating its pets.
He started slipping into dementia before his second term.	He started slipping into dementia before his second term.
He was almost 70 years old when he started his second term.	He was already 78 years old when he started his second term.
He was shot in one lung in an attempted assassination by a then 26-year old who fired 6 bullets with his six shooter, was committed, released in 2016 and is still alive. One bystander, the WH press secretary was paralysed by one of the bullets and ultimately died due to the shooting.	He was shot in one ear in an attempted assassination by a then 20-year old who fired 13 bullets with an AR-15-style rifle and was shot and killed by a counter-sniper within 16 seconds of the first shot. One bystander was killed.
