EU Train Speeds
Sep. 13th, 2024 04:55 pmBack in 2019, Rosta_CZ created a map of fastest trains in EU and posted it in r/europe (using only connections from biggest city to top 5 biggest cities, the raw data for which is partially available):
Normally, my commuter train ride (53 km) takes 60 minutes (all stops; avg speed 53kmh) or 50 minutes (semi-express; avg speed 63.5km). Today, due to earlier operational issues and now overlapping with later train, I got a rare treat: full express service which took only 33 minutes (avg speed: 96kmh).
