Maslow on transcendence and peak experiences

While reading about some Atlantic article on unfairness in society, someone mentioned Maslow's hierarchy of needs, so I looked it up to jog my memory. It turns out that he published it in 1943 and he refined the top to include or be superseded by transcendence. Here is Maslow himself talking about a related phenomenon, peak experiences.
